The Writer’s Guild of America, East (WGAE) Foundation is auctioning a copy of Julia and Jacques: Cooking at Home autographed by Julia Child, Nora Ephron and Meryl Streep. The book, which is from Tom Fontana’s personal collection, is on auction on eBay through March 6, 2010. The money raised from the auction will help further the Foundation’s mission to perpetuate storytelling,” said Tom Fontana, president of the WGAE Foundation. “On March 7th, someone will be the lucky winner and new owner of this amazing signed book, and the Foundation will have proceeds to continue its good work. I’m rooting for a bidding war.” Julia and Jacques: Cooking at Home is a companion piece to the PBS series (of the same name) where Julia Child and Jacques Pepin used different ingredients in each show to prepare a meal. Published by Alfred A. Knopf in 1999, the book on auction is signed by author Julia Child, Nora Ephron (who wrote the adapted screenplay and directed the movie Julie & Julia and is also a WGAE Foundation board member) and Meryl Streep (best actress nominee for her portrayal of Julia Child in Julie & Julia).
